Minor surgery procedures include excisions (ie. removal of ingrowing toenails and moles), joint injections, aspirations (ie. drainage of cysts). Your doctor will refer you to the minor surgery clinic and you will be sent a letter inviting you to attend. Minor surgery procedures are performed at the surgery.
Diabetic patients will be routinely recalled to the Diabetic clinics. New diabetic patients will be invited to attend an educational diabetic session held at the surgery
If you think you are pregnant consult a doctor as soon as possible and they will advise you about arrangements for your maternity care. There are three sessions each week attended by our midwives and all partners provide maternity care.
We offer IUD insertion/removals in addition to Nexplanon fitting within contraception clinics, please call for an appointment.
Asthma appointments are available with the practice nurses throughout the week, you will be advised when to attend. Please make an appointment for the asthma clinic via the reception team.
Adults who are accessing learning disabilities services are offered an annual health check. Further information is available from the receptionists.
Our practice nurses are fully trained and well experienced in helping you to be adequately protected for your holiday abroad. We offer a comprehensive range of vaccinations. We would encourage you to make an appointment with our nurses several months in advance of your planned holiday so that you are adequately protected. Please ask at the reception desk for details of which travel vaccinations are free and which are chargeable to you.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
